Info or Photo Requested

I am looking for info about a WW2 Convoy Commodore ship called the 'Samuel Bacchi' The spelling may not be accurate, but it was apparently Norwegian Registered.

A colleague always talked about his time as a very Junior R.O. on her.

It would be nice to find out more info.

Hi David,

I think the ship you are after is the Samuel Bakke - Norwegian Registered and delivered in 1929.

Check out this site which has a photo and other information: http://www.warsailors.com/singleships/samuelbakke.html

There is a lot of history about her there as well.

Regards,

Brian

Hi Hugh and Brian

This is exactly what I was looking for.

This was the first ship a former Coast Radio Station RO colleague sailed on. He always talked about an odd number of Atlantic crossings, so we all said .......... you can guess the rest.

His one memory was that there was a hot tap in his cabin washbasin that produced hot water !!

Many thanks to you both

David
