The Infant Crisis

The Infant Crisis.

A crisis in the constitution lifts its infant head.
The First Amongst All Equals states his preference to be dead
Before he will obey the law which binds, throughout the land:-
A reconciliation is required, to understand.

Where nobody, within the realm, above the law can live;
It obvious becomes that something, soon, will need to give.
Should the law be yielded, and our Premier placated,
Or should he to account be held? With charges duly slated?

Either one must happen. There is no alternate way.
We’re governed by the law. And not by things one man might say,
In Downing Street or Palace Royal or Palace of Westminster.
The law applies throughout the land, to bachelor and spinster,

To persons of all rank and file, whose morals matter nought,
Until he seeks to challenge laws which others now have brought
To placement in the Statute Book, to govern you and me
And him as well. Though he protests, might you care but a flea?

What then, of the crisis? Of its reconciliation?
It seems the Premier has agreed to meet the legislation.
We shall see what we shall see and what might happen next;
And what might be proposed and when; and, then, on what pretext?

Nice one, Barrie. Pretext indeed, but what can we expect from politicians?
Getting worse and enjoying every minute.
