I hope you will enjoy the site.

For the benefit of the uninitiated, can you explain the expression "Two of fat, one of lean" please?

Hi Ferrypip,
My self (Kevin Fields - T&J engineer from 1973-1982), and Gerry Whitehead (Chief Steward) sometimes look in. There are a few Harrison posts dotted around the site.

There's a Harrison Line reunion in Liverpool at the end of November each year - Gerry is the key organiser. Didn't go to the meal at the Adelphi but was at the Crown afterwards. Some of those there: Keith Duffy, Steve Slattery, Jimmy Hampson, Ginger Murray, Mick Kavanagh, Keith Rushton, Nigel Jardine, Phil Mault, John Beeton, Alan Soens - and over a hundred others.

Find one of Gerry's posts on the forum and send him a personal message - he can add you to the data base for next year's invitation.
Cheers,
Kevin

Greetings and welcome to SN. I did my first trip as a Marconi JRO in T&J's Naturalist in March 1968. Spent 90% of the time throwing up due extreme seasickness! Enjoy the site!!

ferrypip,
Yep, sailed as 3rd Mate in the Comedian and the Planter in 1949/50.
' Twin-screw Wells' was Master of Comedian. So called because he was the father of twins. And yes, I found them good feeders.

I remember Billy Finn, he was the "runner". Used to come on board whenever possible and liked a drink with us. S.E. Canada 2 Dock office and Water Street head office.
