Hull inspector

Any of you Blue Flue guys ever come across or remember a hull inspector named Smith, sorry I don't know his first name, who was based in H&W in the late '50s and early 60's. He terrorised the management of H&W by refusing to accept anything other than first class work, even down to counting the coats of red lead undercoat. If he is still alive I know someone who would like to say hello.
