The name rings a bell, Mrs. agrees so it must be true.
Do you have any idea what ships he was on?

I know the Tenacity and Tamar for definite grumps. I'll get more info next time I see him. He normally rocks up in the local on a Friday.

KJ, I was on the Tenacity from 1/75 to 6/78 so that could be it.

I know of an EC with the name of RJ Scully whom I believe to be a 1976 intake, no idea where he comes from.

EC on Norness Sept1979, EC Tay Dec 1979 and Kennet JE April/ June 1984. No further info, but possibly a Ticket late 84 early 85, promo to 3E?

Did not see RJS on Tamar/Tenacity lists 75/78, but it was a quick look.

Could be him Graham I sure he said he was 76 intake, and that he was on Tamar in 82 just before Falklands.

Can you check Graham and see if he was on the Avon with me. I was JCR on her in 82. We are scratching our heads I recognize Rob from somewhere.
Much appreciate it if you could Graham.
Cheers

Kev, I've just checked the November Fleet News on the Gtzx.org.uk website and Rob was on the Avon with you. He is listed as a J/E.

Thanks Dave, that clears that one up, Robs memory is worse than mine. Took my discharge book to the pub last Friday, and nothing was ringing any bells. However we were hampered by a noisey pub full of chatter, my hearing which is poor at the best of times, and Robs voice which is nearly as bad if not worse than my hearing due to a battle with throat cancer a couple of years back so he speaks very hoarsley these days. He is on the BP Facebook page which I'm not as I don't do Facebook at all.
Cheers.

Next time you meet him give him my email address ( or get his to me), evidently he is an ex Engineering Cadet and I always connect with them.
Last time you and I were in email contact was Sept 2013, you still have same email address? I can send you a copy of that crew list.

Graham

Graham,

In an earlier post you had an RJ Scully as a 1976 intake, but I'm from 1971, and I don't recognise the name. If he was a junior in 1982, that's sounds about right for a 1976 intake. All the lads from my intake still at sea in 1982 were 3/E's.

Dave
