Recognise anyone?

Found this in the gallery, no comments on it, thought it may do better here.

I have crew lists for August & December 1969, other than that not the faintest.

2G who put the pic up in the Gallery , I cannot locate it.

Graham

I see now it was Blank pig ( one of my contacts, I have emailed him, hopefully get a reply) he was on her March/Sept 1969

memory floating back slowly. Terry Took was 2/0 on Br Maple in 1967 and the name of the chief steward may well be Maurice Stout. God only knows what will come back next.

Come to think of it I made the same mistake when I joined the ship in Las Palmas on her maiden voyage. It's not Harry but he looks very much like him.

Welcome to SN Sam.

So you have finally retired, good, I have been waiting for some info from you since 2008.

I still have the photos ( Security) of a very young Sam (JE) sitting alongside of John Hurst (whom I am still in touch with) and John Anderson 3E.

I'll send you an SN email

Graham

Some memories from British Security...

First pic is Colin Wood, second mate...
Second pic is John Hurst (right side), not very flattering and Eric Wheeldon (left side).
Third pic is two of the deck cadets, don't remember their names.

Hi Graham,

Not quite retired but closer now than when we last spoke.

My apologies for not getting back to you in 2008, it was not one of my better years, non malignant brain tumour. Having had it removed I now have a good excuse for memory lapses!

I think one of the NCs is Lou/Lew Cashmore. I too was on the Security as an NC with several of the names referred to in this thread, same time as Dave Sawyer. If I remember correctly I left the Security to go to S Shields for the Mid-Apprenticeship Release Course Sep - Dec 69. Sam, I bumped into you and we spoke very briefly in Homebase in Portlethen about ten years ago!

My first visit to the forum and there is a picture of an old friend Fred Cashmore. I was trying to track Fred down earlier in the year only to find out he died in 2007.
