All ex Palm LIne hands I have posetd in the Obituary section but to inform that my Dad, Captain George Morris, crossed the bar on 01.01.18 peacefully at home. The sun was shining with a hard horizon out in the bay.

Sorry to hear this, I was Chief Officer with your dad on the M.V. Anna in 1986 when he joined Transocean Maritime Agencies, Monaco. R.I.P.

Shame to start a New Year with such sad news but I wish you all the very best for 2018 anyway.

I only had a short time on the Matadi with George Morris.

I sailed with George a long time ago but do remember him as a fine master.
Glad he had a good retirement.
RIP

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your comments. I have relayed all to my Mother and she is deeply heartened by the high regard my Dad was held in by his former shipmates.
I wish you all calm sea's and following winds.

Paul

George was one of the nicest men I have ever met. I sailed as 3rd mate with him when he was Chief Officer and gained so much from him.

I never knew George but I knew many like him. It is always sad to hear that a true captain has gone ahead, a pilot to us all. RIP.
