Any change to logging in method?

About a week or so ago, I got asked for a name and password on this computer. No probs, put them in, ticked the box to be remembered and all has gone on as normal. I also use a Blackberry Playbook to access the site, I got asked to login on there and now it does not store the login even after ticking the box, every time it needs a full login. The Playbook has had nothing changed and retains details for other sites. Is there any reason for this change?

Could be something to do with the cookie settings on your PC.
Although you ticked 'Remember', if there's a setting that discards cookies on browser or PC shutdown then that would explain the problem.

If I'm 'teaching grandpa to suck eggs' then I most humbly apologise.

Thanks for the thought Basil, but the tablet I am using is a bit odd, the thing is it has been working and now doesn't despite no changes being made to it.

You personally might not have made any changes but when an operating system updates (automatically) it makes the changes unbeknown to you............

Blackberry abandoned the Playbook some years ago, no updates.

Not sure about the blackberry but a week or so ago Norton did an update on the online security and since then my saved logon details disappeared (on some sites, not all) but clicking on username it reappears and then I log on as usual.
This site is unaffected.

It does sound like a cookie issue. What browser are you using? If you have it set to automatically clear cookies then when you go back to the site it won't remember your login details.

It is a long dead Blackberry OS, it has worked fine for several years and still accepts cookies and has not been suddenly set to delete them. You are not answering the question asked, has the login protocol changed recently? Several other sites that need cookies to remember me still work. It is no big deal, but I do see some others seem to be having problems.

Have you got an anti-virus app on your Playbook?
It is possible for a virus protection to switch off cookies when it does a scan, maybe happens if it is set to clear cookies.

IF you have virus protection, that will still update even if the OS doesn't.

Nothing has changed on our end.

I'd suggest doing a clear of browser cache and cookies on your blackberry. If nothing changed here, then it could be that there is a corrupted cookie file that is preventing your login status being remembered

Thank you Kevin. I think I will just change what I do and just use the PC That works and login later in the day when I fire that up.

The log on system could be simpler, afterall it is not Fort Knox or the Bank of England.
I have been off site for about a month after fudging my log in and experienced no end of frustration getting re connected . How many pedestrian crossings, fire hydrants and bicycles can be difficult to determine by those with failing sight like me and the complex temporary log on keys likewise are hard to get right .
Back on again now and enjoying same but not the on going Brexit shambles!
