Norwegian Getaway saga

NCL scheduled a repositioning trip from New York to Southampton April 27 with the expected routing via the Azores with port calls at Portland UK, Zeebrugge, and Le Havre.
Last Friday they announced the trip would be shortened by 2 days and the Zeebrugge and Le Havre calls cancelled. Compensation of 25% of the fare plus $300 airline change fee. The vessel has an appointment at the Brest dry dock but why this was not known earlier is a mystery.
After much ado from some of the passengers, a further 25% off a future cruise was added.
Apparently this did not quell the revolt as people claimed they only booked because the vessel was calling at the 2 cancelled ports.
Not certain why anyone would book 12 day trip to spend 8 hours in Belgium but that is said to be the case.
NCL then comes forward with a second revision cancelling the Azores and Portland, but restoring the other two ports. This will undoubtedly entail a much further northerly track across the Atlantic in order to make Le Havre by May 5.
