BURIES MARKES, La Loma, and Gearbulk

Any shipmates from the above? I was REO in BM for about 6/7 years.
Looking for Martin Birchmore and Hugh Thomas and any other that may recall me.

Hi Les,
I was RO/REO with BM from 1977 to '81. Didn't actually meet you but heard your name a few times. Haven't been in touch with anybody from that period of my life, but I am still in touch with Gerry Linehan who was a BM RO and later Cargo Officer on Norman Lady. I worked with the same employer as Gerry when we both became landlubbers in the '80s. I have some great memories of Martin Birchmore who was CE on my first trip (La Loma as 2RO with Bill Guinan). In any case, good luck with your search.

Hi Jim - very late reply - sorry. Eventually spoke with Bill's wife. He passed away some time ago. Very good chap - clever but nervous.

Hi there,
I sailed with Dave many times on La Loma in particular. Super chap - we got on well, but then Dave got on with everyone.....wicked sense of humour!!
I contacted him a while ago as I live in Newton Abbot, not far from Falmouth. Would have liked to have met up with him, but sadly he (and wife) were both too poorly for that.
I do have some pictures of Dave - on duty in the Bar somewhere. Also there is a Buries Markes FaceBook page (closed group, you have to apply to join).
Thanks for popping up, and very best wishes for 2020.
regards
Les Edgecumbe.
