Captain A Cant

Any old Denholms lads ever sail with Sandy Cant ( my name's spelt with an "a " not with a "u ". Joined the Clarkeden 1970 as he was leaving.
Just reading about him in a book by R.Woodman , seems he had a bit
of a run in with the German armed cruiser Thor in 1943 when in command of the old Wellpark.
JC ; same initials-but the other guy did the miracles.

Remember him when signing on in the shipping office. When the shipping master tried to avoid reading the articles he made the point of stating his name and quoted the spelt with an A and not with a U.
