Richard,

I presume you know there is a memorial to the Trent at All Hallows Church Tower Hill. It consists of one of he bell and a long audio tape of the incident up to the collision

Incidentally I have been trying for the last 2 years to get a suitable memorial to the British Crown at the same location, dealing with them has not been easy, but I think success is close.

Graham

Hi Graham,
Thank you. I have walked past that Church hundreds of times, after passing through the Merchant Navy Memorial garden , and never realised that the memorial was there. I will go and have a look soonest.

P.S I see the news from Posidonia in Greece is that lots of Ships will be Slow Steaming to keep their emissions under the "Sulphur Cap" due to be brought in from 2020. Slow Steaming was quite relaxing for a few trips on BP Tankers, but I am not sure about running at slow speed all of the time! <smile>
Regards, Mike

Good ship with great crew I sailed on her 1986/87, joined in Dunkirk and left it in Swansea. The chiefs were Jimmy Kinsella and Paul Brennan don't remember the names of the rest of the guys.
