Smile Capapita, Glasgow, WW2

I am looking for any information on a ship possibly called Capapita, Caparita, Carapita or Cararita. I know alot of options but this information came from a rather grainy photo of some of the crew with a life ring. On the life ring is the name of the ship and Glasgow.

I believe the ship was active during the Second World War but have no idea when it was constructed or even what sort of ship it was, possibly merchant navy but i'm not sure.

I have looked through list of ships registered in Glasgow at the Mitchel Library but couldn't find it so it seams it was not built in glasgow only registered there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

P.S. Can someone tell me if Loyds Register contains military ship of just civilian ships?

Doing a quick search on names ending with 'ITA' I came across:
CABARITA owned by Bank line from 1930 to 1952
CARDITA owned by Shell 1931 to 1941

I have a database that I have developed over the last 15 years, containd histories of over 9,000 ships and all those British ships in service during the last war. Means that I can do a quick search, took me 1 minute to come up with the answer for you. Marvelous what DateEase can do.
