Boat drill - were you there?

This was taken towards the end of 1980 during a trip to the Cape. I am the R/O sat at the stern (with white helmet) next to the third deck officer.

Does anyone recognise themselves?

Was the third mate Rob kenworthy it looks like him. Went onto do a uk coastal after that with Steve Procter?

How come only 4 of the crew have safety helmets on, were they optional?.....
