TSS Dover

Good Evening,

There is a plan underway to try and save and preserve the former Sealink 1965 ferry 'Dover', currently the nightclud 'Tuxedo Royale' at Middlesborough.

If anyone is interested in this project and you are a member of Facebook, please follow this link, join the group and watch out for the updates.......

Many thanks,
Mark.

This project may be sunk now.

Because the ship has sunk to the bottom of the River Tees.

And it's almost 'game over' for the old girl

Sad, but inevitable. She's been sat on the bottom for 5 1/2 years. Costs spiralling - unpaid port dues, corrosion, and of course the asbestos issue.

It is now...

Inevitable, of course. Sad, but inevitable.

Work well ahead, hopefully finished by the summer.

The suggested 2 million it was said would have cost to save her was a rubbish figure and would have got nowhere towards refloating and refurbishing, never mind paying quay costs!

Better vessels to save.
