Hello!

Hello!

I am Lucy. I live in Taunton, Somerset, England with my partner.

I am researching mine and his family histories and have come across Royal Navy ancestors in both lines. This was not a surprise in my partner's family but was quite a surprise to find in mine!

I am hoping to learn more about this in the forum and discover more. I look forward to being part of this community.

Lucy

Thank you Frank for your welcome.

I will get my information together on my Royal Navy ancestors and post on the forum to see if any folks can assist.

PS One of my 2nd Great Grandfather was in the Merchant Navy, I believe, in the 1880's. He described his occupation as Mariner on his Marriage record and daughter's baptism record. It will be interesting to research him more.

Not to worry Lucy, SN gave up press-ganging years ago. Nowadays we are an entirely voluntary organisation! Welcome aboard!
