Port Montrteal

My Grandad (Capt. R.P. Fuller) was on the Montreal, not sure of the dates, but I have a photo of Him in uniform on the deck with some of his crew, perhaps someone will recognize some of the faces.
Best regards
G. Fuller

A great ship

Joined The Montreal in Philadelphia 24th April 1969 and paid off 6th March 1970 and will always be remembered as the "Best" ship of my sea-going life. Very young crew who bonded across all departments and went ashore everywhere as one body of mates who looked out for each other. Rarely less than 15-18 of us walking into bars and staying together as a very happy and tight group. To write a story of the 11 months would sound like fiction but was a fantastic trip with much madness and laughter and of course plenty of women on the Aussie coast. Like most Port ships she was a good looker and cabins were good and food was always plentiful.
We were very lucky to be at sea in this era and it would vanish very quickly in not many years time.
