Unknown naval ship 1920's ?

Going through some of my late Fathers ship photographs I could not identify the type or nationality of this ship.
It looks like a destroyer but did not have the normal stockless anchor but an admiralty pattern one and the bow was straight up with no flare the snap was taken between 1920 and 1930....any ideas ?

Thanks a lot,it was bugging me and I had searched for ages on the net, I could not distinguish the ensign and the fact that it was not showing a courtesy flag indicated that it was coming into a home port

OK.... the other ship in the photo is the W Class destroyer HMS WITHERINGTON D-76.

Built 1919. Attached to the Med Fleet 1923 to 1926

I have shown two photos of this ship. I was a but confused because the number seem to be in slightly different position on the side. These photos show that the D 76 was in different positions or at different periods.
