Copra Run

I'v just posted a pic of the Hollybank ( taken 1975 ) on the gallery.
I sailed around the world on her, on the copra run in 1966 when she was
almost new ( commissioned 1965 ).
I would love to do it all again, I was a 1st trip jnr. engr. great crew,
fabulous places, underwater water swimming around the coral reefs
of the Pacific islands.
now all I have is a few photos.

MV Minchbank - jan 68- june 69

A circumnavigation and one of the best times of my life. As a young sparkie I was seeing the world and getting paid ! Those years were the best times- before containerisation when you would spend two weeks loading - time to see the country and, as a sparkie, earn a bit of beer money cargo tallying if required. Bank Line told me I would be away for 6 months - I docked in Manchester 18 months later a much wiser and mature young man.

Anyone remember the Minchbank at that time?
