Welcome to SN. You will thoroughly enjoy this experience and will no doubt re-kindle many fond memories.

Now, which pub is it? We're on our way!

You are certainly welcome here Rob and I guess if you can't be at sea running a pub is the next best thing, enjoy yourself.

Wish I was in Hull now having a pint instead of sweating my **** off in Queensland!

Is your pub on the Virtual Pub Crawl? I troubled over that for ages until I realised that most of the pubs had new names - is it true that the "Hull cheese" is what used to be the "Paragon"? The only cheese they ever had in there was blue vein!

Aside from all that, welcome to the site.

Hi rob, I also worked for United Towing, Hull, on all those tugs you mentioned. The pub we used mostly was Manchester Arms ("Manny" Arms) down Scale lane. The landlord was an ex Ellerman Wilson steward. Allan I think his name was.

Hi Rob!

Did you ever come across a Radio Man called David Sheldon in UTC?

Last time I heard him transmitting was 1956 in the China sea. Think he was based in Hong Kong waiting to pounce.
