Apollo recovery ships

I'm researching the recovery ships allocated to the Apollo recovery force in the Atlantic - CTF-140.
In particular, I'd be grateful to hear from anyone serving on those ships that has any information about the loss of a boilerplate capsule during an exercise. When, where, who and how would be most helpful.

There is rumoured to be more to the story of the missing Log of a Submarine than first thought.

It's certainly turned into a bit of a mystery as to what really happened to him, unless someone know's different.
