Quick line!

Just a quick line to introduce myself.

I recently found the site by chance while searching for a photo of one of the ships I served in.
Didnít find the photo I was looking for but did enjoy looking round the various forums etc Ö.. so decided to sign up.

I was an engineer with Caltex/Texaco from '63 till '84 and so itís well over twenty years since my last trip, but reading a few of the posts and comments started to bring back lots of the old memories.
So I intend to go back right now and look some more!

Regards to any other ex Caltex and Texaco guys out there.
Les Humphreys

Welcome aboard from East Yorkshire, Les.
I sailed a couple of times on the Norway way back when.
Find your way around the ship, join in and enjoy the trip.

Welcome etc. I was with Caltex but rather before your time (1954-8) and lived amidships. There is a website at www.tota.co.uk run by the Texaco Overseas Takship Association. You may find a familiar name or two among the members. It is rather like Ships Nostalgia but with tunnel vision! Here in SN you never know what new thread will appear (or which old one gets another recycling) whilst TOTA is a one track site.
Welcome again.

Smile Welcome

Les,

A warm welcome to SN from the Isle of Anglesey.
There is every chance that you will meet old shipmates on this site so, have a good look round and join in the banter as much as possible.
Beware, it is addictive!

Hi Les,

I can't remember what ships I sailed with you on but I seem to remember it was VLCCs. Welcome to the forum, you may find it very addictive! Best of luck.
