Thanks for letting me aboard!

Just found out about this web site and, to say the least, it's interesting!

As for me, sailed as R/O on U. S tankers from 1968 to 1974. Then went ashore and was a tech for a marine electronics repair firm for a number of years where I was assigned to larger commercial vessels; most of the repair work I did was in the Radio Shack.

Many of the ships I sailed on were early 1950s vintage and almost all the ships I worked on as a tech had much newer equipment in the Shack. It was a real change going from equipment that was little more than warmed over WWll stuff to high tech digital radios, sat coms, sat navs, LORAN Cs, OMEGAs and so on.

Anyway, glad to be aboard and 73s to all.
