Angry Epson printer

My Epson XP-55 printer is four days old (130 from Amazon on Wed)
Every Sunday I order from Tesco Groceries and they send me a copy
of the order.
I then print it for reference.
Today I did the usual and the printer would only print the second page
of the document.
I tried for ages but it would only print the first few lines of page 1 and the whole of page 2
Tesco "Help" said they were flummoxed and gave me the number of their Printer techie to cionsult tomorrow.
Anyone any ideas ??

Check in it`s menu if there a box showing pages to be printed, it may have been mistakenly set wrongly

Epson printers

here is a copy as below, taken of the two earlier posts on this page re; epson xp-55. - it shows 3 pages to print but can be adjusted by clicking Pages.
Before printing the posts on the left hand side as shown, check all on the right side -

Destination - your computer named
Pages - all or click if customised reqd.
Layout - portrait or landscape
Colour - black and white or colour
More settings - click on to find paper size, pageas per sheet etc. - the rest is usually default - if all okay, click print

the setting might be different if set up for manual rather than WIFI

Do a "Print Preview" first to check it's not the printer that's causing the problem.
It's a long shot but some of the text may be printing colour white instead of black for the missing part of the document hence you can't see it.

Hi and Hello George, best to check "Printer Preferences" - when there, click on Maintenance - then click on 'printer head alignment' - if necessary do a 'nozzle check' and 'head cleaning' - then print out a test page to see if all is okay.

see below

It's hard to understand, all of your settings are correct. It is not known where the error is caused?

I’m assuming your shopping online and receive an email receipt. It would be better to create a new folder in your inbox and move the receipt to this box, saves paper and ink.
If other emails or documents print ok then the fault is Tesco.
If it’s the printer do a nozzle check pattern to check all colours work. The XP55 was launched 2014 so could have sat on the shelf sometime and the ink dried up plus the cartridges are not supplied with much ink. I know it’s under warranty but those that have ink problems check out www.inkmagic.com got some good tips.

Lots of times, if it is an http page, you need to look for the specific "print" button on the page, otherwise the page might not print. Don't use Ctrl P.
Hope you got it sorted, George.
Rgds.

Thanks Gentlemen for all your help
My PC Consultant called today (27) and said
that to be able to print the Tesco bill I must change my
browser as Tesco doesn't like the one I am using.
So I went to another one and all seems to be well.

Epson XP - 55

Another very silly question.
My new XP 55 is working well.
The problem is ; what do I do with the old one ?
My comp expert says "take it to the tip"
Probably right but it seems an awful shame
Can nothing be recovered from it and reused ?

Donate it to someone?

The question is: Does the old printer work?
If Yes, then donate it to a charity shop of your choice.
If No, then there is very little that can be used directly and it would not likely be cost effective to repair.

The Local Authority 'tips' are nowadays termed 'recycling centres' and they are obliged by law to recycle, or cause to be recycled, all Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment under the WEEE regulations.
There should be a special place at the 'tip' and such equipment should no longer be sent to landfill, except parts which are completely non-recyclable after it has been dismantled.

Umm charity shops don't take electrical goods anymore but as mentioned the local council dump will have a container for small electrical appliances.

Yes they do, but not many. It seems to depend on whether they have a volunteer on hand qualified for PAT testing etc.
There are a couple here in Poole and I would guess quite a few elsewhere.
