ex royal navy clinker built cutter, may have been from HMS Whitehall

Hi I am trying to research my 32ft ex navy wood clinker cutter, I think she may have been aboard HMS Whitehall, how can I prove this, I know she came off an ex navy ship when being broke up at Barrow in Furness Docks by Thos Ward Shipbreakers after WW2, I have found a date on the stern, carved or burnt into the wood, it says 1913 or could be 1918, the only ship of that age that got broke up by Wards at Barrow in Furness was HMS Whitehall she was laid down in 1918, how can I find any providence for my boat, she is still afloat, moored in the sea and gets used often, many thanks

Hi, if you can see a date can you see any other numbers. If possible can you post a picture of the boat. With some more information I might be able to resolve your questions. Tony

Hi Tony, I have been told that some numbers exist under the paintwork on the bow stem, this Friday I intend to bring her up the beach for winter works, I will sand the stem back and see if I can find any more numbers and take some photographs, thanks, Mark
