MA Doran

A few days ago I went to Matiatia (On waiheke) And saw the heritage images, One of the images had a shipwreck The MA Doran. At the time I was really excited thinking "I cant wait to explore it! I will google it when I get to my destination" Later than day a storm made it so there was no service, Well anyway I googled it today and there is a page about it. It says that the visible remains were removed in 2013 (Whyyyyyy) But I would like to know if anyone on this forum knows about the Doran

I have never heard about that ship Peregrine. There was an old authority living on the island year ago who knew about most of these things but now long gone.
He was Johnny Ray, the man who build the yacht Ngataki from almost nothing during the 1930's depression years and did some island trading before settling down.
He wrote the book "South Sea Vagabonds" about his exploits and later built another boat "Wanderer" ?
So many people could have given us answers if time stood still.

If only more people on the island could give information, I could always contact the Auckland council but I doubt they would know much. I found some images of the Doran, Looked like a really nice ship
