Short sea career!

Only at sea as MARCONI Radio Officer for just over 2 yrs and served on 3 ships...
SS Zenatia (Shell Tanker).
MV Eid (Chemical Carrier, - Marine Transport Lines, New York). On this one for 1 Year approx, maybe a shade longer!
MV Manzanares (Fyffes).
Left to get married, (wished I hadn't), and became a BT Engineer and done 15 years in Exchange Construction and a further 21 in BT Planning Office.
Now happily retired, divorced, single and enjoy walking/hiking & looking after my 2 grandchildren when required (which is most days!)

Hi John,
Both actually. My new wife didn't fancy the idea of me going to sea again, so took a position with the old Post Office Telephones at the time. 10 years married with 2 long breaks. Sometimes wonder how things may have transpired, if I had stayed at sea! Hindsight is a wonderful thing, eh!

Women have a lot to do with men and their future, some even drive a man to drink.
