Saying hello on behalf of Ronnie Leask

Hi- my father Ronald Leask (known as Ronnie Leask) was on many of the Runciman "-moor" ships in the 50s (including the Fernmoor on its fateful voyage when it sank in 1954!) and Currie Line "-land" ships in the 60s (latterly the Gardyloo in 70s/80s/90s) plus a few months on fishery cruisers in the late 50s - if you know him and want to say 'hello' I'll pass on any messages to him.

Mirroring Billyboy's greeting, but from the usually sunny Isle of Anglesey.

On behalf of the 'SN Moderating Team', welcome aboard.

Hopefully, someone will remember your father. Good luck

Gardyloo

Hi, I didn't know your father but I actually applied for the post of Chief Officer on the "Gardyloo" in the late 70's early 80's . A chap I was with on the TS Dolphin and the Leith Nautical College, Pete Dyson( ex Currie Line), I believe became mate and was there until the "Gardyloo" was decommissioned . Am I right in thinking that the Leask family were Nehaven, Edinburgh, based? With origins n the Orkneys? I am born and bred in Edinburgh and still live here.
Cheers
George Porteous
