Hello all, hope you don't mind....

Hello all, I hope you don't mind me intruding in your forum, but I'm hoping one of your members may be able to help identify a location and even the ship.

I recently found some packets of old prints and negatives in a leather case while clearing the garage out. I think they are from around the 1930s, though I wouldn't put money on the accuracy of my assumption.

The two main images are of quite a large vessel under construction. The other images from the set all seem to have been taken at or around the same time.

The images are on my flickr pages at

other images from the series at

Thank you for your time and once again apologies for the intrusion.

Martyn

Welcome aboard from East Yorkshire, Martyn.
I'm sure the crew will be able to help. They enjoy nothing better than a good mystery.
Get to know your way around the ship and enjoy the voyage.

Martyn,

Just a guess, but as it's a large 4 screw passenger vessel built circa 1930s and looking at its profile, it could be the Queen Mary

regards

Martin,
I have a book containing this ship but the photo is taken from the other side of your first image : it's the Queen Elizabeth
The image is in a reliable source - a booklet on the Queens dated 1968
