Ahoy, Can You ID This Vessel?

Hi all, can you help ID this ship. It is a naval vessel, and all I can tell you about it is that it is entering Blyth Harbour (Northumberland UK) and is on its way to Hughes Bolckow. The two paddle tugs at the rear are probably Blyth's own Earl Of Beaconsfield and Greatham. The two screw tugs I have no idea about.

Any information that might lead to giving the warship an ID would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Philip

Can't Blyth News Archive tell you? Or is this the source of the question? Pity the names on the near tugs are just below readability (mine) at least that would give you a dating bracket.

I'm guessing this has to be HMS Berwick broken up in 1948. The only other cruisers broken up at Blyth post-WW2 are CERES, LEANDER, GLASGOW, PHOEBE, EURYALUS, SIRIUS

BZ Sparkie! BERWICK was one of the fine old County Class cruisers, and I understand that the date of her arrival at Blyth was 12 Jul 48.

Wow, you have all done me proud!

Thank you so much for taking the time to sort this out for me. I wouldn't have had a hope on my own.

Cheers
