Nice shot,she had 3 sisters/sim.CITY OF BEDFORD-CITY OF KARACHI and CITY OF BIRKENHEAD.they can take aboard 4 passengers.

Nice picture, does anyone have a picture of the City of Bedford they could post, appreciate if you would, my last sailing with Ellermans.

I have some 150 pictures of Ellerman "Hall" "City" & "Bucknalls" most pre WW2 period. I sailed on the "City of Lille" in 1944 & the old "Cape Town" 1n 1946 on the MANZ Line charter, Panama Outward, Suez Homeward. 6 Months voyage quite good for Ellermans,, The India-USA service could last for 2 years. as it did on the "Lille"
