Hello

My interest stems from finding photographs of Union Castle and Cunard ships. I went from Cape Town to Southampton on the Arundel Castle in 1949 when she was still fitted out as a troop carrier. I also crossed the North Atlantic on the Queen Mary and the Caronia that same year.

I spent the southern summer of 1956/1957 as a whalerman on the Abraham Larsen of the Union Whaling Company out of Durban South Africa.

Welcome aboard from northern England.
Plenty of Union Caslte and Cunard enthusiasts among the crew.
I'm sure you'll enjoy looking around the ship.
Enjoy the voyage.

From Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia.
Search our galleries for UC and Cunarders--there are lots of pictures there and the forums have much in the way of information, too.

Bruce
