Yes the boat came to fleetwood and was put back on the lloyds class after a lot of hard work.It was sold to some african state and that was the last was seen of it.The same company did run hebble sand which was sold to ireland and at the moment have lantic bay ex fowey harbour ,the admiral day,and rebecca m,which sank in heysham harbour and was going to be repaired but i think has been sent for scrap.
Hi Ian,she was sold to Italian owners in 1964 left Blyth on the 19th May,towed by the Poolzee bound for Palermo.Remember it well was down at import dock that evening. She was renamed S RITA and lasted until 1981 when she was broken up at Palermo

Hi Spartan,
Thanks for the information about the Cowpen, I wondered what happened to her, I didn't realise that she lasted so long.
I have a few photos of her at Blyth, my grandfather worked for BHC and spent time on the Cowpen,
Thanks again
Ian Bl.
