Ss meta

Good day all, from 1960- 1962 I sailed as 3rd mate with Glens of Glasgow on the SS RUNA and SS META, can anyone help with details of these ships. I sailed on the META' last voyage delivering her to Norway to be converted into a cement storage barge

Hi, Have a look at www.shipsoftheclyde.com for Meta on 25th January 1962 for much information about her last voyage from Glasgow and Clydebank to Gothenburg

Hi thanks your post, I am trying to fill missing gaps in my sea career. I joined Glen Line by accident needing only 3 months sea time in order to sit first mates ticket. But t
he Meta was a real adventure, I did four voyages on the Meta as 3rd mate from March 61 to Feb 62, including her final voyage to her cement barge life in a Norwegian fjord
