Old B+C cadet

Hi I am David Duncan 76 yrs old living in Cape Township. Apprentice with British and Commonwealth (Clan +Union Castle) 1961-1964 Safmarine 1964-1970
2nd Mates @ King Teds Mates and Masters in South Africa. Mate on tug Walvis Bay 1971-1975, Tugmaster Durban 1975-1979 ,Pilot,Senior Pilot, Ass.Port Captain Saldanhabay 1979-1990, Port Captain Walvis Bay 1990-1994, Port Captain / Harbour Master Saldanhabay 1994 - 1998 Harbour Master/Pilot Hamrihah UAE 1998-2000, Pilot/Mooring Master St Eustatius Caribbean 2000-2005, Pilot Mooring Master Ghana 2005-2008 Consultant Puma Energy 2008-
I think that my apprenticeship was the most enjoyable part of my whole career and would welcome anyone who shares that view.

Ex B & C engineer cadet 1966 to 1970 . I think they're a good company to have had an apprenticeship with . Went to South Shields College

Hi and welcome. You stirred some memories in me. I was mate on the mv. Boland in the late 60's and early 70's, regularly running round the SA coast from Durban to Walvis Bay. Visited Saldanah for tinned sardines and Luderitz to pick up crayfish tails.
