Robert Woolley

Hi all - this is the first time I have visited this site. I am an ex-waterside worker (Hobart, Tasmania). I worked out of Hobart, Melbourne and Adelaide ports from 1970 - 1993 prior to that I was conscripted into the Australian Army and served in Vietnam from 1969 - 70 with the RAE.

I have a common interest in ships with Harvey Price, a retired merchant seaman. Harvey started his sea going career at the indefatigable National Sea Training School in Anglesey in North Wales between 1960 - 62. He first went to see with Andrew Wier's shipping company ie: Bank Line. Immigrated to Australia in 1974 from Birmingham, England and retired in 2005 after serving on various Australian merchant vessels overseas and Australian Coast.

Looking forward to hearing from old ship mates or waterside workers with similar interests.

Rob Woolley

I am an x Inde Boy bit before your time. Left in June '54, sailed out on Empress of Australia. Spent a few days in Hoarton the Suevic in '56 feasting on crayfish and doctor "pinfold"
