DSR's liner ARKONA was photographed approaching Bremerhaven on 29th June 1990
Launched in 1980 as HAMMONIA but delivered in 1981 as ASTOR, she sailed as ARKONA between 1985 and 2002 when renamed ASTORIA
In 2010 she became SAGA PEARL II
"Arkona" in Milford Sound. Built by Howaldswerke Deutsche Werft, Hamburg, in 1981 as the "Astor" she was sold to South African Marine Corporation in 1984 and intended for the UK - Cape Town service. She became "Arkona" in 1985.
The German Cruise ship seen here berthed at Princes wharf no 2 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. This ship has visited Hobart under a number of names including Astor and Fedor Dostoevskiy
