The "Border Reiver" in Brigham & Cowan's dry-dock. I think the Shell tanker was the "Velutina", the all-aft collier opposite is the "Greathope"with the "Esso Gothenburg" astern of her and the "Rotherwick Castle" ahead.
Steering positions of "Border Reiver". It isn't clear in the photo but windows had 5"inch brass surrounds and all pipework was copper or brass, all highly polished. If it moved salute it, if it didn't polish it.
