The iron ship Crusader was built in 1865 at Glasgow by Charles Connell and Co, for J Lidgett a Sons London and in 1870 they sold her to Shaw Savill and Co, in 1898 she passed into Norwegian ownership and she was broken up at Dortrecht in 1910.
Is that a Thames barge that is tied up along side her?
Crusader Shipping's Crusader built 1958, 3435 gross. Ran for this company between NZ and Japan, and NZ to Hawaii/US Pacific Coast. Had an identical sister SARACEN which from 1972 to 1975 was renamed LANGSTONE and sailed under the Shaw Savill flag. See more of my photos of Langstone in the Gallery.
