m.t. LION in the North Sea Canal near Amsterdam on her way to the sea trials. She was built by C. Van der Giessen Scheepswerven at Krimpen aan de IJssel for the Norwegian owners A./S. Ambra, Oslo.
The first P&O livery for the Dover crossings were imported from Normandy Ferries with their powder blue hulls and cream upperworks not unlike Maersk in the 50's and 60's. This is the Lion approaching Dover in 1984.
