Further to Ray's pictures this is the saltom being salavged by T T Brown and Sons of Bristol. On the left with portable salvage pump working is Browns tug Medway (2nd), and Admiralty salvage camels attached to ship.

Bristol Sand and Gravel's Saltom sank in Bristol's City Dock on 7 January 1957 after spring a leal in the Junction Lock. The Captain was able to get her out of the Lock and alongside May and Hassel's Timber wharf jetty before she sank.
