The Taybank, one of the Doxford Bank boats, completed in 1963 alongside the river berths at Calcutta. Forget what the wharf was called but will never forget the cockroaches crunching underfoot as you walked across it.
One of four motorships built by Workman, Clark, Belfast, for Bank Line in 1930 they were the first motorships built for the company. All were twin screw vessels and apparently capable of about 13 knots. All survived the war and were broken up in the early 1960's, in the case of the "Taybank&q
