the khaleej times has obtained further details of the project dubai rescue and restoration plan, currently entering a critical phrase with indian scrap dealers poised to tear the ship apart.
PROJECT dubai, the ambitious U.A.E. plan to save the last great transatlantic liner, will restore the ship to it's former glory days and give her back her orignal name the SS FRANCE.

project dubai say those days will return, with the liner returned to it's roots as a french cultural centre but now moored in dubai, the reborn SS FRANCE will undergo a 80-100 million$ refit and will eventually feature hotels, restaurants, conference facilities, authentic french stores and even an education centre devoted to the france, the liner, maritime history and the protection of the worlds seas.

Unfortunately this is unlikely to happen. As one demolition broker put it, it's just a "fairy tale".

The Blue Lady is due to arrive Alang this week.

Sorry to say but I think you are correct and in fact she is already anchored about 30 miles away waiting for court appointed inspection.

Probably that far away to prevent an "accidental" beaching during a storm.
