I live near to the Humber Estuary. There are very often quite a few tankers seen on AIS to be waiting at the Spurn anchorage, and perhaps even more anchored off Southwold. However, when looking at the Gulf of Oman, this number pales into insignificance with the numbers waiting there. Were the two latest casualties underway ? Press photos show one that looks as if it has just weighed anchor.

According to the many reports both tankers were fully loaded outward bound from the Gulf.
MT KOKUKA COURAGEOUS 27KDWT Panamanian Flag Product/Chemical Tanker, Japanese Owned and operated by Bernard Schulte ShipManagement is loaded with Methanol bound for Singapore and Thailand.
MT FRONT ALTAIR 110DWT Marshall Is. Flag, Norwegian Owned Frontline tanker operated by V.Ships is loaded with Naptha destination Taiwan.
All 44 crew members from both ships are safe but with one minor injury.
I guess we now have to wait and watch for the outcome?
Listening to Retd. Adm Stavrides (ex Sec.Gen of NATO) interview with CNN the other night was sobering. He predicts "a significant response by Trump administration. No doubt it was Iran? Likely to be full on conflict - headed for deep deep tension in AG."
All the signals are gloomy?
