I was relieving ECO on
Eurofreighter 23/10 to 28/11 1975 Macdonald
Asiafreighter 6/01 to 19/03 1976 Graham
Asiafreighter 14/05 to 12/06 1976 Donaldson
Eurofreighter 4/08 to 11/09 1976 (Falmouth Drydock)
Asiafreighter 15/10 to 9/11 1976 Graham
Euroliner 17/12 to 21/01 1977 Donaldson
Asialiner 27/02 to 27/03 1977 Donaldson
Asiafreighter 5/04 to 10/05 1977 Graham

Had a 'new' R/O on each sailing.

Good times and felt more a part of a team.
In Falmouth drydock, the hot summer of 76' I recall engineers Rab Fraser, Ronnie Keir and Gerry Morrison, sorry for those that I cannot remember at this time

Came ashore after Asiafreighter, but that is another story.

You might note that in some cases I was doing 1 On and 2 Off. This was due to having accrued a serious number of Sundays at sea on my previous ships.
But it suited me

This seems like the most appropriate existing thread to post this.

I read in the company rag that the excellent Joyce Murdoch is to retire shortly. Those who served in the pre-A-E offices will remember her fondly (I am sure). As will many engineers when she assisted in their recruitment.

I suspect she might get to read any well wisher here posting.

One of those that made life in the Kremlin fun.

Happy retirement Sharkie.

John, That is when I came ashore (April) and first had the pleasure of knowing her.(she might then have been 'up the road' at Transport Research). David V
