Actually the track 'Stealing' from Uriah Heeps Sweet Freedom album is one of my all time favourites. But Sabbaths Changes is up there for me along with Poisons, Something To Believe in. Genesis, Ballad of Big is also a canny tale
My all time band Rush never did what you would call a ballad every track was nigh on a story rolling into an album but Closer To The Heart ain't far off, the first side of Hemispheres, and 2112 speaks for itself.
I'm kinda falling out with the 'Power Ballad' thing. You can get to much of Coverdales 1987, last I saw it was defo time he hung up his Mic, granted brilliant when at his best. Even Planet Rock need to move on a bit.
Don't suppose it helps the purists much when every father's day another bloody 'Dads drive time' compilation album hits the shelves.
