We are making a do***entary about the Firbank/Sibonga rescue of 1,003 Vietnamese refugees from the South China Sea in May 1979 and are looking for anyone who was involved to get in touch.

Post on thread below or send us a private message/email to [email protected]

Hallo Mylinh

The 3/0 on the Sibonga wrote in one of the threads here some years ago. I have sent him a message re the film and the reunion, but nothing back yet. There are also a couple of people that referred to Captain Martin, and they have also been sent a short message. Will keep you posted.

Any chance of a synopsis of the film? Will you restrict it tightly to the rescue, or is there perhaps an intro about the ships of the Bank Line and the personalities? There may be interesting contributions that others can make.

Also, as you will know, Mildred Martin received a plaque for her valuable humanitarian work, and this was covered by the company magazine in a report that appeared together with a picture of the presentation . I have a copy if you need it.

Best Regards/Alan R.
