Hope this note finds you all well! Wanted to inquire about some potential assistance with a project I'm about to undertake. I'm planning to build a large scale model of the ULCC Batillus. I was wondering if you might have some ideas on where to find plans of the ship. Specifically looking for body plan, general arrangement, shell plating, etc. plans. The first two would be most critical in building the model, especially body lines. I'd be more than happy to cover the cost of time, reproduction, shipping, etc. Building this model has been a lifelong interest for me and I'm very appreciative of any help you may be able to offer! Thanks so much for making the time to read this.

Why not go to the shipyard that built these ships? Seems to be obvious.

Ah. I did not say that the builders would supply such items. It is quite unlikely they will. Go to the builders and ask where they are now located and who has the archive. Then to find if the people who have them and can they supply copies. They might be in a museum etc. Good luck.

Bill, You may find that photos will get you very close to what you need for a ship model.
The basic hull shape is very simple. If you have to overall dimensions that’s really more then enough for the hull. It’s a box shape for most of her length.
Keep us up to date. I for one like this type of tanker.

Sure thing! I love these big ships and have studied them immensely over the years.
They were massive structures.
The engineering to build these was over the top.
Agree, the draft and twin skeg setup made them so unique!

I used to work with Mobil oil on there 32000 tankers.
I thought those were big ships.

Bill, this section from the Exxon Valdez is very much like these huge tankers you are looking to build.
