Sad to see of the end of her. My Dad who had recently retired from Safmarine was called on to act as relief C/E to replace the usual C/E when he went on leave. She was on standby on the buoys in Simonstown Bay and he commuted down daily from Sea Point by car and caught the ferry out to her. He saw it as a nice break-in the retirement routine. The Cable Restorer outlasted him by some 43 years.
Thank you for the feedback and your Dads connection to her - do you know what Safmarine Ships he served on ?

This prompts me to ask?. Does anyone know the final fate of Relume?. Back in the 60`s/70`s she was "parked" in Bahrain, Never seemed to move in 9 years.
