I am looking for info on Captain Samuel Phelps, at the age of 27 in the year 1827 he was a Master Mariner. He was in South Africa at this time and had requested the British government leave to stay and get married in South Africa. He married Isabella Almond in Feb 1827 in Cape Town and in 1831 they had a daughter. Then in 1832 Samuel Phelps dies - Cape of Good Hope Government Gazette 1832 - 1 - January to March

I just found out that Samuel Phelps was the captain of a Coasting Brig 'Mary" Who sailed around the Cape of South Africa delivering produce to the various ports. He also sailed to Mauritius.
